Because sharia courts do not and have never had any legal standing in the USA whatsoever. They would have to be given legislative authority to do anything in the first place, so passing a law saying we will never pass a law authorizing something that was never authorized is wacko.

I am very pleased we have different views of rational analysis, I find that very reassuring.

>>By the way could you explain why you find a law against Sharia Courts to be a Wacko idea?<<

For one thing, it's completely unnecessary. The highest law of the land is the Constitution, and that law is completely incompatible with Sharia law. So if you want to look at it that way, we already have laws on the books prohibiting the establishment of Sharia courts.

Another good reason is that nobody is trying to bring Sharia law to the U.S. This a bogus, fabricated wedge issue. It's about as sensible as trying to ban flying cats.

Muslims comprise less than 1 percent of our population, and the great majority of the muslims who do live here are moderate types, who have no interest in taking over the country and changing our entire legal system. And even if they were interested in doing so, they couldn't possibly get it done, politically.

PS: Would you like me to cite the source of my statement regarding the number of muslims in the United States? I'll be glad to.
