I love it... I know some here who expound authoritatively on their gross misconceptions. Here's an example from a poster who believes they are an energy expert who wondered in an actual public post about why they don't build hybrid air conditioners -- you know, use batteries to recapture the lost inertia of the spinning blades. Um... I guess so they can use the battery to make 'em spin *later* <g>

Another category of articulate incompetents here are people I call "google scientists" -- capable of quick searches for what they hope to prove but with no inkling of what anything means and therefore no grasp of the accuracy or even appropriateness of conclusions.

There was the one who thought NASA should haul their rockets to Mexico City to save energy on launches. That was priceless, esp. the gigantic response trying to save face rather than just fessing up and saying "I'm an idiot" which actually would have made him look a lot smarter to me.
