What he said was that the country is broke and we cannot continue with these liberal programs that are unsustainable.

Any schmuck can come up with that. Would he do instead?

Chris Wallace actually said that "without unemployment" more people would be living in poverty. Yet, you all complain about nobody could POSSIBLY live (other than in abject poverty) on unemployment benefits.

The point is not about the words Wallace used, with which you are playing here...the point is that even Wallace understands that when joblessness kicks up people need help and many, not all, but many have no other recourse or resource.
