John,

To expand on what you've said, CNBC this morning had an interview with Deutsche Morgan Grennfeld's resident chip cap equip expert Elliot Rogers. He maintained that chip fab co's buy and sell in US dollars, and are therefore more or less insulated from local currency fluctuations.

Also, only 8% of their products are destined for consumption in the region. The rest are for the US, Europe, Japan, etc. etc. Worldwide PC growth is still expected to be in the high teens % long into the future.

John G,

May I be so bold as to call upon your 10Q reading skill?

freeedgar.com

It seems that Asyst may intend to carry on the business activities of Asyst Automation - or am I missing something. They've formed a new sub Palo Alto Technologies (PAT) which seems to have the assets which were formerly with AAI; and have retained the right of first refusal to market any of its products anywhere for the next 5 years.

Your interpretation?

Might they still believe they can go toe-to-toe with PRIA?

Ian.
