yes steve, it is up to the parents to do financial education.....but my parents taught me the basics..work hard and invest in cd's.....so they now are comfortable. but my coworkers opened my eyes to the broader investment world in 1994....my grandfather said (when i first started investing) that he wished that he started investing (In stocks) when he was my age (at the time i was in my 30's)....so i told my daughter that i wished i investing in stocks when i was her age (20)!!
sometimes it takes more than the parents!!!
