would that be time magazine, newsweek, bizweek, nyt, wsj, foxtv or cnn

That's all you perceive. But the local press and media is actually the most effective at bringing out stories. All news is local BJ..

Letters to the Editor.. investigative reporting (which seems to be on the decline).. etc. All provide local news feeds from which the big media draw their content.

But where the media is falling down in their coverage of important events, the Blogosphere is taking over and filling the gaps. And that's to be welcomed, not censored.

So continue to delude yourself into believing HK is "free". It holds on to the facade of the freedom that was previously guaranteed by the US and UK military strength. Were it not for that western protection and development, HK would look like the rest of the mainland.

But now it's merely a useful capitalistic tool for the apparachiks in Bejing. But when that usefulness becomes a threat, you'll be fleeing your little haven as a refugee.

The only way you can guarantee your freedom is to make Bejing reflect the values found in HK. And that isn't going to happen without an accountable government with a democratic process in place to create orderly change of governments.
