Thanks for giving me another reason to not being a rodeo fan..

However, there are horse enthusiasts who enjoy rodeos:

...and the bronco busting event is supposed to represent the "breaking" of wild horses into domesticated stock.. The battle of wills between wild horse and rider.

Now I understand that not all horses in these events are wild, but I think they should be. Once a horse is domesticated and tamed, deliberate aggravation (IMO) amounts to abuse.

But a wild horse?.. Sure they are scared, but they are also damn mean (as are bulls). And the whole point of the exercise is a historical representation of the historical connection between man and horse and the mutually beneficial relationship that has developed.

And very few horses are ever harmed in rodeos.
