When my oldest daughter went through college she got pell grants for a while. Being a single Mom meant nothing for aid. The latinos got full boat rides though... true story, one of my best friends wanted to marry a latino with 2 kids. She already had her Masters at Cal Poly SLO and the State paid everything: rent, food, medical, tuition, other expenses like fuel and insurance... She told him, why should I give this up to marry you, a lowly electrician? her plan was to get her PhD and then re-evaluate.... Too many white single moms with degrees?
