We fix what we can with the resources we have. That's what creating a better world is all about. But the takeaway from that story is that one ought to be inspired by the acts of a maintenance mechanic who sacrificed it all so that his children don't have to. That's something that seems to be fading away these days. I remember reading about a Manhattan (or Connecticut?) woman who got an abortion because, among other things, she didn't want to shop at Costco. OMG, what a terrible prospect! Tenchusatsu
