The private debt figures might be inaccurate because they do not take into account the effect of write-offs.

I do not believe additional debt is a good thing. Not when every sector is thoroughly indebted.

I'm confident the real Debt to GDP ratio has declined more than is shown on the chart, due to the yet unrecognized status of much of the bad debt.
