Yes, but I think its more than that. DeMint is the tea party head in the Senate. It was a shot fired across his bow in no small part for the role he played in DE.

If the Rs don't win the House or the Senate in November, I predict civil war will break out within the party.

I think she has these guys rattled...

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who has been sharply critical of Murkowski, said before the vote that he expected the conference to remove her from her committee post by an “overwhelming margin,” saying there was a “principle involved.”

After the vote, DeMint refused to comment.

I’m not going to comment on that right now,” DeMint said. “Our conference is united behind Joe Miller, he’s going to get a lot of support from all of our folks.”
