Before I install any software on my new Windows 7 system, I call the companies and ask if the software I have is 64 bit compatible. I spoke to Techsmith today, all their software is 32 bit, but will run under Windows 7 64 bit fine.

Just bought a new laptop and still awaiting delivery from Dell. My evaluation of Virtual XP is that some legacy programs may not run. I have some really old, but critical business programs that I must be able to open. My solution was 32 bit Win7 Pro with a downgrade to WinXP Pro. Dell loads XP and sends the Win7 disc for future install. It will be a lot of work to convert my older programs, but at least I think I now have both operating systems available on my time schedule.
