Elites strike back: It's all about them
Wednesday, Sep. 22, 2010

Some people go into politics for the ideals, some for the power and prestige. One of the great services the Tea Party movement has provided Americans has been to separate the two. From Arlen Specter to Charlie Crist to Lisa Murkowski, establishment elites have been exposed, then brought down by average people fed up with being lied to, misled and taken for granted.

What is happening is really profound: Power is shifting away from the elites and toward the people. That doesn't sit well with the ruling class. Specter switched parties; Crist is running as an independent; and Murkowski is trying a write-in campaign. They betrayed the ideals they once claimed to champion, all to keep their grip on power.

Rather than showing those Tea Partiers who's boss, they have only exposed themselves as the frauds the people suspected them of being. If this is the sort of house cleaning the Tea Party movement brings, then more power to it!
