Not an expert here but I believe that Clovis point sites (in the south West and also including South Carolina) have been dated as far back as say 12,500 years back. But a site in South America is pushing back (pre-Clovis) to maybe 15,000 or so.... Science LEARNS as new evidence is discovered. (Just as I said about the Bell Jar, back then the human genome hadn't even been decoded yet.... So very much has happened in the biological sciences in the last 10 to 15 years, with new knowledge coming almost every day.)
