Three-year-old cheats death in 13-story fall
HONG KONG (Reuters) - A three-year-old Hong Kong girl miraculously cheated death in a thirteen-story plunge from a high-rise building as laundry lines helped break her fall.
The toddler, Lau Tim, had climbed up to a window to look for her mother when she slipped and fell from an apartment in the Tseung Kwan O district, the South China Morning Post newspaper reported.
But her fall was broken as she plunged through clothes lines suspended from lower apartment windows and landed on a corrugated metal canopy on the first floor, it said.
Neighbors who looked out their windows after hearing the girl's loud landing saw her sitting upright and crying. She sustained minor fractures to her shoulder. ^REUTERS@
