Analysts need to seem important.

The TRUTH is boring and doesn't need them. The economy is growing slowly. Technology has recovered sharply from very low "great recession" levels. Technology growth from here will be more moderate, somewhat bumpy, more company dependent, and will incorporate and be driven by new products and applications.

The analysts need people to believe "the sky is falling" or will soon be and the analysts can tell them what to do to avoid a chunk landing on their heads. It doesn't hurt if what to do involves generating consulting fees or commissions.
