TPRO is going to present on Y2K issues at Automation Technologies Forum to be held February 9-10, 1998 ú Orlando, FL.

New to this year's forum is a session focused on the Year 2000 issue, or Y2K. This information-packed discussion will help manufacturers assess the impact of Y2K on automationinstallations and learn the steps necessary to address the issues. Speakers in the Y2K session include system integrators Fluor Daniel, Walsh Automation, and TAVA Technologies, as well as DuPont and other large manufacturers.

The details are in: arcweb.com

I sure hope the oil and gas pipeline folks are reading this string- every station, pump, pig station and valve along millions and millions of feet are controled remotely via a bird in the sky- this is quite like the blood system for energy delivery and you might wonder how many y2k sinsitive embedded chips are out there on the lone prairie- "yippy ki yi yay what a mess this could be"-Satellites and remote locations responding should be a big red flag for Y2k -I started looking into this last week - other areas of concern are railroads and inventory reporting via satellite. HELP!!!!!!

Just discovered that all of my links in TPRO research site, cannot be accessed by NON-SI members.

My links have started with exchange2000.com which is apparently ONLY accessible to SI members.

I'm changing all links to techstocks.com which non-SI members can access.

I have everything formatted (for caps/italics, etc.), but need people to Cut/Paste & post ... and make sure lines wrap properly.

Email me if you can help, and I'll email you formatted copy.

If we do this, then people can email the Table of Contents to ANYONE ... and they can have immediate access to all areas.

Thanks,

Cheryl
