There was a big difference between draft-dodger Bill Clinton and draft-dodger George W. Bush. Clinton was publicly opposed to the Vietnam war ( as many, MANY of us were at the time), while Bush was publicly in favor of it. Let me say that I see no evil in dodging that ill-conceived conflict, if you were opposed to it.

Do you not SEE the hypocritical difference? Clinton did manage to dodge the draft, as did W. W used his family's political power to jump him over 100 Texans in line, waiting to get into the TANG. Clinton seems to have just used his native wiles.

The National Guard at the time was a PREFERRED way for people with political ambition to dodge the draft at the time. They could later claim military service. The grunts that actually WENT referred to the National Guard as "nogo's", and despised them.

To dodge it while being in FAVOR of it would indicate cowardice. The manner in which Bush dodged it would indicate that he was USED to special treatment - an elite.
