Thank you so much! Now I can be specific about the losses from that buy signal.

But why do you say that it would have been nearly impossible to have sold at S&P 676? Wasn't that the closing price on March 9, 2009?

Not that it matters, because my topic was how much one's portfolio dropped while Bob Brinker said to buy and then keep holding. If one followed Brinker's advice and bought in at 1450, one watched that money lose 53% within 15 months, while Brinker kept giving additional buy-levels (plus dollar-cost-average) and the market kept dropping.

I'm sure you understood my point. If not, say so, and I'll try to make it more clear. Otherwise, why split hairs?
