Get your history straight.. Pakistan's intelligence service (ISI) CREATED the Taliban in order to create some order in Afghanistan as a cover for their exploitation of the country, as well as creating a "friendly backyard" as they focused on their ongoing rivalry with India.

And China was Pakistan's biggest backer during the '90s, after the US foolishly abdicated our responsibilities after the Soviets left.

Only AFTER 9/11 did we attempt to reassert our influence ($$$) with Pakistan. And as we can see, that's not working out so great.

Even during the '80's the US had relatively little control over how the war against the Soviets was fought. We financed Pakistan's ISI to train and equip the Afghan Muhajidin, but our intelligence operatives were not permitted to actually operate in Afghanistan. It was an ISI "show" through and through.. We just provided the checkbook and hardware store.

This is the "blowback" we helped to create that directly led to the Taliban taking control and providing sanctuary to Bin Ladin and Al Qaida.

am not worried about jihad in hk. we in hk have no problems with moslems and mosques, and we are happy to buy what we need,

Thus far.... But one day all of China will have to worry about Jihad. There is a large Muslim population in your country and it's not going to be ignored and oppressed for long by the Han and Hakka.

You obviously have no idea what you're dealing with in Xijiang, nor the fact that 1-2% of China's population is Muslim (10-20 million).

The land they occupy is "Dar Al-Islam" and if you repress them, you'll be fighting the entire Muslim world, not just that 1-2%.

That's why Muslims can't make a permanent peace with Israel, only a "truce". They can't surrender Palestine, which is also "Dar Al-Islam".

legislation that allows the US to use estimates of currency undervaluation to calculate countervailing duties on imports from China and other countries.

The language of the bill was recently changed to reduce its chances of being successfully challenged at the World Trade Organisation, making it more palatable to centrist Democrats and some Republicans, even though there are still concerns that it may not pass muster with global trade rules.
