The USA was founded by scientists and engineers (i.e. Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson). The country grew strong based upon the rational decisions of intelligent scientists and engineers. Now high-level decisions are made by lawyers and professional politicians who do not appear to have the skill to make even simple decisions on policy. The populace still has some intelligence. But the quality of leadership must be changed radically or the ultimate outlook of America will become quite dire.
