Of course. Haven't you noticed that the most powerful, good people are always the black men or women.

These days in entertainment, white men are portrayed as inferior, even to their own kids. It's disgusting.

I have gotten so fed up with the strutting loud-mouth dictatorial black men and women in these programs, the first sentence out of their mouth, I change channels.

When was the last time you saw a "bad guy" lead character played by a black person?

Conceivably, there could be a crazed White guy with a gun running from good cops who are mostly Black, but that is an illustration of a very small exception, not the general rule.

Television is quite adept at taking extreme outliers and making them appear normal in Hollywood's imaginary world of make believe.

This new cop show, "Detroit", would appear far more realistic if it depicted the villain as a Black cop who (a) hates Whites, (b) is addicted to crack, and (c) murders people and steals their money to support his crack habit. Let's call him Officer LaJarvus Jones.

One episode may go something like this:

In the first scene, we see Officer Jones stopping a lost White motorist at night on a dark street and beating him senseless with a night stick while saying, "Hows you likes dat you cracker muthafucka?" Then, he robs the dying man of his wallet and speeds away.

Quickly, a gathering group of Black "youth" from "da hood" approach the dying White man and begin kicking him in his head. All of the "youth" are convicted felons. One of them steals his watch, while two others steal his car and a his Blackberry. One of the older "youth" shoots him in the head with a stolen gun.

In scene two, we find LaJarvus, now off duty, stabbing a Black crack whore in a filthy, dreary room and robbing her of five dollars and her crack pipe. Viewers are led to believe that he is either her pimp or he is acting as a rouge cop on the take.

As the crack whore is dying, LaJarvus races off to the suburbs in a stolen car. He soon spots an attractive White woman in a remote apartment parking lot. He repeatedly punches her in the face to daze her, then he savagely rapes her in a dark, secluded area of the lot before stealing her purse and credit cards.

In the final scene, LaJarvus meets with several other Black thugs to rob a package liquor store. During the robbery, they gang rape and savagely beat a young Pakistani woman who was unfortunate enough to be the cashier at the time. As she is near death, the young woman whispers, "The police will find you." LaJarvus laughs and retorts, "Bitch we is da police," before he shoots her in the head.

I think if Spike Lee were directing this series, he would probably show something similar to this as well; something closer to the reality of an everyday occurrence in a hell hole like Detroit.

In reality, Detroit is probably much worse than what I described. -ng-
