Even if West Virginia went for the Republican candidate, Democrats would still control the Senate because the states of WA and CA are a firewall against Republican control. The most important thing is to hobble the government. With Congress and the President as democrats, the federal government is a huge truck filled with explosives that is careening down a steep mountain road with no brakes and heading straight for town. If we get the house, which I expect, then we put some brakes on the truck and slow the eventual mayhem. That would be great!!! If we get the house and the senate, that's like sending the truck back up the hill and would truly be spectacular. Either way, your dreams of destroying this country will have to be put on the backburner for a couple of years. I fully expect the democrats to pull all kinds of shady crap during the election (a la Al Franken) and after the election (a la deem and pass). But the more that crap happens, the more you alienate the center. What's funny is that it looks like the Republican party is under siege by the tea party, but the Republican party will survive. I predict that the democrat party has maybe 10 years of existence before it is replaced with another party. Because of the ubiquitous corruption in the party liberals who are good people won't want to be associated with it. They'll be embarrassed to say "I'm a democrat" much like many conservatives don't want to say "I'm a republican". Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank and the rest are poison pills to the democrat party. The death throes of the democrat party will likely be painful for this country, but it needs to happen.
