He can't do that because the government workers might have to take a pay cut.

Here the county commission is voting tuesday whether or not to raise taxes 9.3%. Local paper is all over it. Todays topic is the car allowances high up officials are getting even if they don't drive much.

One Commissioners salry is about $93,000/year...plus another $5.550 for a car. That commissioner drives 160 miles a month.

Not bad for a part time job.

You're a wise man in all that, and I heartily concur. Although I'd like to eliminate about 80% of our military, every journey begins with a first step.

I too would like us to be a big, powerful nation among nations, but not a bully or a country that has to involve itself in every problem of the world. Let's concentrate on perfecting OURSELVES, a huge job.
