a) You claim the stimulus helped while we're clearly worse off than when he came into office, and you make that claim based on "what might have been", YET b) You claim the Bush tax cuts didn't "keep us prosperous" but you can't tell us how bad it might have been WITHOUT them. Let me see if i can wade through your reasoning...your point seems to be that a fair minded liberal should theorize that during the bush presidency the economy was so clearly in severe decline as to justify tax policies that increased the national debt by $2.7T (so far) and conclude that said tax cuts may have averted further declines...yet in 2009, when the economy was contracting at 6% rates and we were losing 3/4M jobs a month we could/should have left the market place to its own means (you have made this argument a few times by the way) rather than spend $800B over a two year period to attempt to keep things from escalating into a bigger mess ...am i getting this right? Well, at least you seem to have given up on the insane notion that the tax cuts got us more revenue or cut the deficit somehow. They were designed to insure we would not have a nuke detonated in Times Square, which they did during Bush's tenure. I'm not sure whether the current administration can speak confidently about how secure Times Square or any other place is. So you think that invading a country whose dictator didn't have any nukes kept terrorists who hated him from attacking Times Square with nukes he didn't have but could have provided to terrorists who hated him? Got it...i see your reasoning now. Al
