I think that Bernanke could do this:

Give us a link to a website where we could download a Government Money Coupon based on our SS#. This would have a unique serial number and a denomination. You could print it and use it as paper money. The file could be wired to a bank and deposited. All enterprises would be required to honor it.

Each coupon would be cancelled out in a database when "cashed", basically, used for any transaction. Everyone accepting the coupon would have to check first.
