TEDennis, CEO,

Everyone knows you are a technical god, and I blanch to mention my idea in the presence of such greatness! Call me crazy if you wish, but I am thinking we might approach the Millennium bug spray solution from a different angle.

Let's say we spray the hardware: the mainframe, the printers, the tape silo robot (better skip the disk packs), network servers, and the back of each workstation PC (you know, spray thru the holes by the fan that keeps the PC cool). Plus, also spray countless other hardware that I failed to mention since I am home today and don't have access to my meticulous Y2K Inventory documents.

Anyway, if this Millennium bug spray is as great as we will advertise, it could have an active ingredient (sort of like a smart virus killer drug) that would seep into the hardware intuitively and basically turn each hardware item into semi-wetware and true thinking machines. You know, sorta like in NEUROMANCER by that Gibson guy! [Note to self: FBN work after Y2K -- Artificial Intelligence with an attitude! Jack in or be square!]

Well, TED, I know it needs work (like what the hell good will it do for the mainframe to spit out a four digit year if the program will only receive a two digit year). You thought YOU would get to point that out to me, didn't you? Gotcha! Anyway, I think the plan has merit and I am confident the FBN brain trust (The FBN Group) can overcome the minor problems.

If push comes to shove, we can rely on our resident psychic for guidance (me)!

Norm
(FBN - will help out anytime)

Egad ... what a day in the Y2K market ... IMRS down 3 to 19 1/2, VIAS down 2 1/4 to 40 1/2, PTUS down 1 3/4 to 15 3/4.

Fortunately, I liquidated all my investments and now only own FBNA pre-IPO shares. Soon to be worth zillions.

(Hey, a little wishful thinking never hurt anybody)

Humble question, TED, I presume this confirms that the FBN Millennium Bug Spray you discussed in the post to which I'm responding, is out?

"When we see it, we'll spray for it" - #reply-5657967

We do ship it with the Double Zero's hit version of the old Bug Spray song, right? - #reply-2688071

Cheers,

Svejk
