QE2 will undoubtedly be massive.

Russell figures about $4 trillion will be due from US government per Congressional figures within the year and that there is $500 billion available to pay it. I wish the latter figure was somehow corroborated but I trust Russell.

What else needs to be said?

Of course the stock market will surge given the upcoming scope of QE2 over the next year. Of course gold will surge.

The debate about when QE2 will start is specious. Note that US elections are on Nov. 2 and that the Nov. meeting is the next day. Given the scope of the required QE2, of course it will begin on Nov. 3. Nothing will happen before the elections.

The market of course knows this.
