Hot off the press H&Q Initiates Coverage

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10 (Reuters) - Hambrecht & Quist on Monday started coverage of IDT Corp, an international
provider of telecommunications services, with a strong buy rating.

-- said IDT is just beginning to tap the potential of its Internet telephony product offerings.

-- said ''the time is excellent for investors to consider taking a stake in this fast-moving company.''

-- forecast a profit of $0.48 a share on sales of $295 million in fiscal 1998. That is up from a net loss of $0.18 a share on
$135.2 million in sales in fiscal 1997.

I expect the announcement will have only a minor impact on the stock price. Investors are waiting to hear about actual sales figures, production numbers, yield numbers and speed-grade numbers. Any news at Comdex is likely to be undramatic, particularly compared to that of the more established manfacturer. I continue to think that IDTI will trade within a range until we get some news on these issues and regardless of how many third tier customers they sighn up. Third tier custoemrs are relatively easy to sign but they are also notoriously willing to jump ship if you can't support them with adequate qnatity and speed grade product.

IDT needs to "Show us the Money".

Comdex started today. But there are still no OEMs. I doubt anyone
will use C6.
