Well then, that would be a twist based on pure ignorance. Keynesian economists believe raising taxes to balance the budget in a recession is self defeating. That theory holds such an action will lead to slower economic growth and even higher unemployment.

Except from a Keynesian perspective tax increases are "anti-stimulus".
