Reasoning is substance. Numbers aren't relevant to a lot of it, and are not available in other cases. In fact much of the point of the post is that we don't and probably can't have the numbers you want about the effects of actions on the economy. Providing numbers as part of that point would be rather silly.

Other statements like - "Someone isn't right or wrong depending on their credentials", are substance by themselves. If you want to argue that people are right because of their credentials feel free to do so. If you don't disagree, than accept the point, or move on to something else.

So what is it you want more detail about? The fact that far more resources are available outside the Earth then on the Earth? That's just obvious to anyone who has the slightest bit of knowledge about the universe. I could look up something a bout some specific resource, and how much of it is located in say asteroids, but really what would be the point?
