As for bankrupting the country, its all the extra spending that's doing that.

It's both...we have programs that were voted in lawfully, by elected officials, and which are underfunded. Until these programs are changed and spending reduced you simply don't cut taxes, particularly for people who need it the least. No one has found a fix that cuts expenses credibly to reduce the nation's debt...until we do cutting taxes is irresponsible.
