"Where would democrats be without envy?" Left wing successes have traditionally been a result of reacting to right wing excesses, especially when they can expose corruption or oppressive tendencies. Left wingers damage their cause when their actions appear merely cynical and resentful. Right wing successes have traditionally been the result of showing how left wing social engineering efforts are damaging to societal productivity. Right wingers seem to require an enemy of the right (type of person) and damage their cause when they attempt to exaggerate threats or exclude/demonize some sector of society as unworthy. All in all society in general loses when both sides become mutually vindictive as seems to be the current situation. Civil decency has been sacrificed for partisan devotion over the past couple of decades. Simultaneously we are attempting to expand our material operations far beyond our limited resources, and principles related to any common good have been abandoned all together. On the grounds of National Interest we are losing the battle to restore America strategically and principally. In the mean time we have created a political climate where the expectation for our millionaire politicians, who are selling us out, is to lie as it benefits the lobby who brung'em.
