This choppiness you point out is putting in a likely classic short term top. See how SPY tops out every 1.25 to 1.7 months? I think we just saw the head of the latest such top. The expensive zones of the last two tops line up perfectly with the consolidation period we are now in. Cheap would be around 1090 to 1100 in near-mid Oct, up from the 1040 cheap zone at the end of August.
