Leading (by far) were atheists and agnostics though.... As to your question though... perhaps fervor of belief, those with the VERY MOST, the STRONGEST of religious faith, are simply those who score at the bottom of the list when tested for factual knowledge about the history of religion? (After all, the survey's results do seem to suggest that the MOST FAITHFUL, on average, are those who know the fewest details about religious history and comparative religion.)
