In respect to ASND, nothing is happening in the takeover arena. It's still bloated here with a 4.8 billion market cap. If someone wants to aquire Ascend, you can bet it would probably be a "take under".

What is happening in the takeover arena? I haven't heard any recent discussion on this topic.

I posted some thoughts on the merger analysis night. Nothing is new since then.

While I would like an announcement to be made, it is my opinion that things like this take time. The general market malais does not help. For example, if CPQ is the buyer, what does ASND do about CPQ's steadily declining share price? This may lead to some rejiggering of the numbers, and more time elapsed. As I said once before, you cannot look at one day's agony and conclude, because no announcement was made during that one particular day, that all of the merger analysis no longer is valid.
