Scott, I like your idea about CSCO leaps, and your're probably buying the leaps on dips. I need to consider this. I have had good luck since August on selling out of the money covered calls each month on some of my shares. I sold November 90's shortly after the earnings release and seeing that the good news was already reflected in the stock price. I don't think we're going to be seeing 90 in 12 days. As you know, CSCO's price also declined in August after earnings came out.

Good luck,
Marty

Year 2000 leaps. CSCO is still a great investment opportunity!!! Don't throw..

Scot,

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I have been accumulating Csco for years and I am sitting on a chunk of un-realized gain.

Over years I've been wanting to take profit many times but when I consulted my wife she just asked one question: "Do You Need the Money?" Since I didn't need the proceed from the sales of the shares, I never sold. Thanks to my wife, over years I have made a decent profit. Now that the shares will be splitting again, I am thinking of selling.

On the other hand, I am 47 years old and still have 13 years before
I retire. I keep asking myself if I sell and put the money in the
zero coupons or T Bills, or keep the shares for another 10 to 13
years which is a long way down the road. TB's will give me 6% per
year, while I know I stand to make a chunk of money with CSCO if
I keep the shares another 10 years. Hard to fight the temptation^!

Kind regards,

Yaacov
