At its semi-annual analysts meeting INTEL CORP executives said they are seeing signs the ongoing inventory correction among personal computer makers is nearing an end. "They said the build-to-order phenomenom has cost them half a billion dollars in revenue this year. Now they are saying that transition is almost over and won't happen again this year," Dan Niles, analyst at BancAmerica Robertson, Stephens. The news came as a relief to many analysts who had been concerned about possible bad news coming out of the meeting. "We're doing nothing to change our guidance," Bryant said about the revenue growth forecast at the company's semi-annual analyst meeting here. Revenue guidance is an indication to analysts of what to expect for company revenues in coming financial quarters. Heading into the meeting, analyst had been concerned the company would lower its guidance for sales. Bryant also said the company's October sales proved to be slightly up from previous months.
