If you're saving because you know gold will still have a modicum of value at some point in the future, maybe more maybe less then it is a good investment. If you're investing to make a quick buck you will be right and then alternatively wrong.

Today, I made $3500 on a $40,000 gamble on a penny stock over a nine day period. I thanked the person that told me about the stock and he called me a big chicken for selling. I know from experience this same person has pretty good timing buying and horrible timing selling. That money is now trying to buy ABX @ $45 while my other account is trying to sell it @ $50.

Stick to what you know and feel comfortable doing.
