Although this is just conjecture on my part, I think with Brown he is/was more of monk than anything else (with politics as his calling/order--he originally studied for the priesthood--with the Jesuits I believe).

We could probably find out if we searched the internet, but I think Rondstadt has been linked to various men over the years.
