The "Death Tax" is simple confiscation of wealth. If there are no legitimate heirs the government gets the property anyway. However if there are legitimate heirs they are forced to sell the properties to pay the taxes. Considering the pounding Walmart has taken from liberals for years now with claims it destroys the "Main Street" of small towns by forcing small stores out of business, it appears to me the are acting in a very hypocritical manner. The "Death Tax" does more to destroy "Main Street" than any other force. Small businesses all have to be sold in order to pay the taxes on the valuation of the business. This includes family farms. What is the result of the "Death Tax"? The government gets more than half and the heirs may actually get little or nothing as they then have lost their incomes and are forced into the labor market to survive. So what we have is the government and large corporate brokers the only beneficiary of businesses that have been operated successfully for generations. Small business people ripped from their careers and tossed to the curb. Families with nothing to show for generations of very difficult work. In the past many people had to sell the family home in order to pay the taxes. It is a most disruptive and highly immoral confiscation in a manner reminiscent of the Sheriff of Nottingham. That's Democrats working for Main Street America!
