Election 2010: Pennsylvania Senate Pennsylvania Senate: Toomey (R) Holds Nine-Point Lead On Sestak (D) Friday, October 01, 2010 Email to a Friend ShareThis.Republican Pat Toomey still stands just short of 50% against Democrat Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Pennsylvania Voters shows Toomey with 49% support to Sestak’s 40% when leaners are included. Four percent (4%) favor another candidate in the race, and seven percent (7%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.) With the numbers little changed from two weeks ago when Toomey held a 49% to 41% lead, the race remains Leans GOP in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. In surveys since early February, Toomey’s support has ranged from 42% to 49%. Except for a brief surge following his mid-May primary victory over incumbent Senator Arlen Specter, Sestak's support in that same period has run from 36% to 42%. (Want a free daily e-mail update? The survey of 500 Likely Voters in Pennsylvania was conducted on September 29, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
