What you fail to understand is that the founding fathers were living in an age when we had JUST discovered democracy and didn't have a clue about modern social theory. What you fail to understand is that the founding fathers had just escaped from the "theories" you want to implement today. Read the Declaration of Independence.

IT DOESN'T EXIST. >>So if we can/must change those things (which were not in the constitution), why not things like social security and medicare?<< the whole point of the constitution was to limit federal government from people like you - the criminals that use big government to loot and enslave the populace or the useful idiots that believe the lies of the criminals. correcting criminal behavior - misinterpreting blacks as not being human (so the constitution didn't apply) and not misinterpreting that women weren't equal persons is one thing. creating a massive federal government to loot the people dry and enthrone a criminal class is entirely different. the founding father's knew that the biggest threat to the citizen was an out of control large federal government. we are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not the FEDERAL STATES OF AMERICA for a reason. the states ought to reign supreme, not the federal government.
