The founding fathers were escaping from a monarchy/kings and queens. The largest threat to our democracy right now comes from the very rich and corporation buying our congress and so writing laws for them and squashing the middle class. As I keep trying to explain to you. The government is no threat because in a democracy we are the government and can vote them out. But we have no conrol over corporations. Try and get a fair shake with a large bank! The large nvestment banks that caused this depression made record proftis alst year while the middle class got killed.
