Barry; Right on ! I don't think you can assume that an earthly master would throw a servant into outer darkness, where there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth.. Also assume that this servant was not a true servant in any sense of the word. He may have worked in his masters house but he did not know the master at all. When he said I know that you were are "hard man", he did not know my master. My Lord is not hard on me , he is not hard to please, his burden is light , his yoke is easy, he helps me through every circumstance. Then the servant says " You reap where you do not sow, you gather where you do not straw ". I BEG YOUR PARDON.........I have people that work for me, they have no idea what I went through 5 and 15 and 25 years ago to build my business , to be able to be in a position to employ them now. They didn't shed the tears I have shed, because I was concerned that I wouldn't make it, nor have they worn callouses on their knees like I feel I have in prayer asking the Lord for guidance over the years. No wonder this servant was "wicked and evil"......He thought that what the master had came EASY, a SNAP of the fingers and POOF, it was done.. I ask you did the CROSS come easy to CHRIST.. and how can we every explain how GOD poured out ALL the SIN of mankind on CHRIST......and being PLEASED that he did......will we ever know the ANGUISH that all of heaven felt as CHRIST hung on the CROSS.. the SINLESS one that became SIN........and for whom, me , you, us.... what a worthless cause...to rescue mankind for what ? Brother, basically I have only one purpose in life and that is to expound upon the thought that grace is simply that-- underserved, and if there are those that think their own seeking, and living, and righteous deeds can get them into the presence of God someday so be it, as for me in that day I'm going to plead one thing and one thing only------the blood of JESUS..........In Christ ....gregor
