Norm, the reason why those Analyst keep on insisting that AMAT will suffer in sympathy with the Asians is because they don't like the stock to rise up quickly so as to deprive them of cheaper prices to load up. I don't think they are so ignorant about Asians to think that Asians can not easily recover from any setback...Asians are masters in the art of survival. Tales are common about how Ilocano-Filipino guides helped American soldiers survive the jungles of World War II and the Vietnam war...In the city-jungle, Asians own their homes then acquire rental homes and the others even establish their own businesses two years after arrival in a foreign land ---with the help of relatives and friends. Our Gov't is fully aware of how industrious and enterprizing these people are that they even are predicting that soon Asia will be the biggest market for our goods...

Indonesia and Malaysia have their Oil revenues to subsidize their Electronics Investments; the Philippines gets its dollars from its people working abroad, likewise for Thailand whose people think like Filipinos---their young people getting college degrees in Manila then using their newly acquired knowledge to compete with their tutors in supplying cheap labor and professional help worldwide...The currency crises is a Blessing in Disguise---now foreign companies will be compelled to expand their manufacturing operations there to take advantage of cheaper labor...
