John; You know John, I'm on the west coast and my bedtime is waaay later than yours - so I'm going to get the last say on this. to address problems and produce solutions. And to be pragmatic about it, not ideological. No way. One more time from Friedman; We have to rip open this two-party duopoly and have it challenged by a serious third party that will talk about education reform, without worrying about offending unions; financial reform, without worrying about losing donations from Wall Street; corporate tax reductions to stimulate jobs, without worrying about offending the far left; energy and climate reform, without worrying about offending the far right and coal-state Democrats; and proper health care reform, without worrying about offending insurers and drug companies. The problem IS that Obama is pragmatic and being so he tries to appease everyone and thus the anger. Being pragmatic is not leading - it is appeasing. Being pragmatic doesn't entail having a vision. I really don't think being pragmatic is what the angry middle is looking for. If that is the case, why is Obama's support going poof?
