That's just a rabbling screed of rubbish.
Lefty extremists like that writer are being shown for what they are in the age of the constitutionally limited government promoted by the tea party.

Goodluck said he "liked" this: "....its (Tea Party) rallies include not only hardcore libertarians left over from the original Ron Paul "Tea Parties," but gun-rights advocates, fundamentalist Christians, pseudomilitia types like the Oath Keepers (a group of law- enforcement and military professionals who have vowed to disobey "unconstitutional" orders) and mainstream Republicans who have simply lost faith in their party."

The people that you seem to be denigrating and their forefathers are responsible for everything good that this country ever was or ever will be.

They MAY save this country from becoming completely Totalitarian.

They are the salt of the Earth, honorable and brave!

I fit into more than one of those categories that you seemed to disrespect.

Are you sure you meant to say you "liked" those paragraphs you posted?

You two libs can pontificate to each other and post trash all day long, but the choice is quite simple, as Newt said today.

Are you going to go with the Party of Foodstamps, or the Party of Paychecks?

I know what working people will choose. Do you know which one the Freeloaders and parasites will pick? I do.

You have a lot of stupid balls to support a negative statement like, the Tea Party supports a "group of billionaire businessmen and corporations" and then there you are posting away about Qualcomm as your favorite corporation to invest in. You are demented and schizophrenic.

Thanks!

I guess the basic question is 'why is astro-turf so successful as a political strategy?'

Well, all I can say is that there seem to be a lot of different ways to approach it, some more successful then others.

(Carl Rove, an acknowledged master, had his own unique style while Dick Armey has his)... but the Billionaire Koch brothers seem to have (over the last, say, two decades or so) perfected their own unique style of 'once-removed Astro-Turf' as a bit of an art form.

The Koch Billionaires' unique style seems to be to spread their money V-E-R-Y widely and very PATIENTLY... indirectly or directly funding sock-puppet after sock-puppet and then sitting back in the shadows, continuing to provide steady levels of funding and patiently waiting to benefit from the words that are going to come out of the mouths (and printing presses) of the many, many non-profit organizations which they have seeded, or which they are actually nearly mostly the support for (Heritage, CATO, Americans for Prosperity, etc., etc., etc. many times over).

And, (as far as the seed money they have poured into dozens of Tea Party groups)... although it's likely 'chump change' to the Kochs, among the *smallest* of their many Astro-Turf efforts, because the various Tea Party bunches can actually legitimately attract substantial support anyway (in a Global Recession/Depression it's not so very hard to understand why there may be plenty of folks willing to grab torches and march toward most any castle within reach, is it?), a 'little bit', 'couple 'o million here or there' from the Kochs can go a long, long way.

I'm sure that even they are surprised at how effective their recent efforts have been (after long years of slowly building up a media and 'policy wonk' support network for Big Business and Plutocrats in general).

Must be very gratifying to be the 'puppet-master' and actually succeed at getting people to 'fight the good fight' (but against their own economic interests).

Machiavelli would be proud....
