"Modern" humans, however, are less than a quarter million years old. How in the Hell did we survive that long?! I guess because our geographical (lack of) reach and our comparative isolation buffered the irrational exuberance and innate violence of all the ongoing "Chosen peoples"...

But we are no longer isolated and limited to horses and spears...

"the human genome shares 99% of its genes with mice. Humans and mice diverged about 75 million years ago, too little time for many evolutionary differences to accumulate. There are only 300 genes unique to either organism, about 1% of the genome. Most of the nearly 150 genes unique to mice are linked with the sense of smell, which is highly developed in rodents, and with reproduction. Mice produce frequent large litters. The genomes of humans and mice are so similar that the best explanation for why a mouse develops into a mouse and not a human is that the genes are expressed at different times and possibly in different tissues."

"Humans and chimps diverged from a common ancestor only about 5 million years ago, too little time for much genetic differentiation to evolve between the two species. Preliminary sequence comparisons indicate that chimp DNA is 98.7% identical with human DNA. If just the gene sequences encoding proteins are considered, the similarity increases to 99.2%."

I suppose that's a true observation but unfortunately Jesus the Christ does not demand that we like Him and we could never do ENOUGH on our own to please God. He invites us to put our faith not in what we have done (for we have ALL failed to do many things we ought to have done and done many things which we shouldn't have) but rather to trust in what He has accomplished through the incarnation, His perfect fulfillment of the Law, His voluntary propitiatory sacrifice on our behalf and ultimately His resurrection from the dead which confirms His righteousness and serves as the only possible basis of our justification before a righteous and Holy God. We worship Him not only for what He has done but for who He is: The (one of a kind) God/Man, Jesus: the Christ!

Many Christians don't "believe" in evolution--LOL!! Some of those who do "believe" in evolution, think it started from these three people. This (of course) is not the scientific view of the matter! ;-)
