Hi Jeff, I talked to John Miller (AVE's CFO) today. Asked him if he knew of any reason why their stock was tumbling. He really had no real answer other than some rumors were flying around (wouldn't elaborate) about AVE. He flat out said there was no basis for them and thought perhaps some folks were disappointed that they didn't announce FDA approval at the AHA meeting that just took place. Also mentioned the possibility of some short selling (which may be connected to the rumors--just speculating here on my part). I went on to ask him about Japan, because I was wondering about the finalization of the reimbursment plan. He said it is set up on a calender basis and if they don't get to you in a particular month, it is then put off to the next.Didn't seem concerned about it at all. Went on to say that they have now trained 2000 Japanese Doctors in the use of their stents. All and all was very upbeat and said everything was right on track as far as they were concerned. Now for my take on the stock price. Their stock is tracking very closely technically with the Dow. I have printed out 5 minute charts and they still are pretty much mirroring each other. If the Dow get's a good bounce here, I think you'll see AVE also get a bounce. By the way , he didn't comment on when they might get their FDA approval, but my take was that it could be anytime now.
I also asked him if the JNJ suit would prevent them from selling in the US. He said it would not. They expect to complete their new building about March of next year I believe. I go by there every now and then to check on the progress.
